Talk about coming full circle.
We all know the job search is TOUGH.
The cover letters, uploading your resume, manually typing your resume out and then the worst part:
(Some people even like sing for jobs...what has the world come to?)
Back in September 2016, I came across a LinkedIn post from a Mr. Jason Meucci.
I didn't know Mr. Meucci, but I saw that he had previously worked at CNN and his LinkedIn posts were always being shared across my feed, so I followed him. What a blessing it was that he shared a post for an open video production position at where? You guessed it USA Today.
I immediately reached out to the contact provided for the position, and was scheduled for an interview. And then a few weeks later I learned I had actually gotten the job!
So what a coincidence it was yesterday when I met Mr. Meucci for the first time! He is actually the former boss of one of my coworkers. As my coworker was introducing Mr. Meucci to all of us at USA Today, I was like....wait a second. I KNOW THAT GUY! Well kind of...
So after the introductions, of course I had to thank him for sharing that LinkedIn post back in September because it changed my life. He changed my life and he didn't even know me.
So the point of this blog post is you should talk to strangers more (kidding).
The point: is really you never know how much of a blessing you can be to someone else.
And I hope that I can be a blessing to someone like Jason Meucci was to me.
THANKS MEUCCI YOU'RE THE REAL MVP.
